Who we are.
We are a community of vendors, shoppers, musicians and friends.
Our mission: As a regional farmers market, we are an integral part of Schenectady’s cultural landscape, connecting farm and city to create a resilient, equitable and sustainable food system.
We are committed to creating and maintaining a diverse marketplace that is accessible for all community members with vendors who reflect the diverse cultures and experiences of our surrounding communities.
We collaborate with community partners to educate ourselves and community about farmers, healthy food and food access.
Established in 2008
Since 2008, Schenectady Greenmarket has been a place to buy fresh local produce and artisan goods in a festive community atmosphere. The market includes over 60 diverse vendors and offers our shoppers the best of local produce, prepared foods, and crafts.
Every week, vendors donate bushels of beautiful, fresh produce, artisan bread and eggs to City Mission of Schenectady.

Community Tables and Events:
Schenectady Greenmarket offers space to local community groups so they can share their knowledge and creativity with our customers, while providing the opportunity for you to promote your organization.
You can run a cooking demonstration, a kids’ activity, teach a craft, share your gardening expertise, give the community a taste of your upcoming musical, or just chat with folks about what services your group provides. It is your chance to meet with your neighbors and introduce them to whatever your organizations does.
We provide space in the middle of a bustling market, a tent, tables, chairs and advertising in our newsletter. We would love to share the news of the work that your group does to help Schenectady.
